A Harlan Ranch 4th of July

Last Saturday our neighborhood had a fun, festive, family night out in the park. They BBQ'd hamburgers, hot dogs, served pasta salad, beans, sodas and dessert. They had a Journey cover band come out and play for two hours, they were really good. Kids played on the bounce houses, and waterslides. After the band cleaned up it was movie in the park time. They played a blast from the past, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" on the big screen. Families laid out their blankets, and lounge chairs to enjoy some quality time. We met the Costa clan out at the park for some celebrating. It was amazing to run into so many people who live in our neighborhood that we know from the past, good to know they are our neighbors today! We headed back to the Costa's house so the boys could watch the fight and we could chit-chat. We love having the Costa's as our neighbors. I enjoy pool dates and visits from Heather and the kids and Jason loves getting together to talk or watch sports with Jamie. While we were sitting on the blanket, eating our hamburgers I saw a new tradition forming, it reminded me of the 4th of July's I would spend with my family and our neighbors and friends in Washington. We would have big block parties with BBQ's, and fireworks. I am embracing and loving the fact that I am getting older, I am married now and will hopefully have kids in the near future and we can start our own traditions that our families will remember 20 years down the road!
